Week 36
Hey Everyone,
This week was a great week. We are seeing a lot of great
things in our area! With the smartphones we are able to look at maps that have
pins on all sorts of houses. It shows us where members live and where the
people we teach live and it also shows us where about 160 uncontacted referrals
are from the past three years. We have been going by them and have had some
awesome experiences. While we were out contacting people we met a lady outside
who used to come to church with a family friend but when they moved she stopped
attending but when we saw her she immediately recognized that we were
missionaries. She said that she used to feed the missionaries and that she
really enjoyed having them in her home. We went back the next day and she
talked to us about experiences that she has had recently and how she thinks we
were on that street that day for a reason. We're really excited to keep meeting
with her and she even wants some of her family members to join in our visits.
We saw a lot of instances this week where we were in the right place at the
right time. Sometimes when things aren't going the way you think they should,
it can be easy to wonder if you're doing the right things. But when we keep
doing what we know to be right we can have confidence that Heavenly Father is
guiding is where we need to be. I think one of the greatest blessings of
keeping the commandments is the peace of mind in knowing that the Spirit is
guiding you. Wonder and doubt can be replaced by confidence and peace. We don't
have to be in the dark.
I also want to talk about how fun it can be to be a
missionary. It is SO cool. I have met so many awesome people and have been able
to share powerful spiritual experiences with them. Sometimes I forget where I
am haha just because it isn't about where I am but it's about the people that
are around me. It's about the service and sharing the blessings of the Gospel
with people. I still have moments where I think "whoa, I'm a missionary
right now" haha it's a great feeling. I'm so glad to be a missionary! I
hope all of you have a great week! Thank you for all of the prayers and emails!
Love,
Elder Anderson
