Week 34
Dear everybody,
This week was full! So like I said last
week, I got transferred to Palmdale. I'm serving in the Palmdale 1st ward and
they are great people here. My companion is Elder Bankhead and he is a great
missionary and I'm excited to learn a lot from him. He was actually just
companions with Elder Whiteley and He's from the Logan, Utah area like Elder
Whiteley was too. He's a really cool guy. I've been getting to know the area
and the people we are teaching. We also got smartphones this week that we will
be using in a lot of different ways. One of the things we will be doing is
using Facebook to stay in contact with people we teach and even teach people
who might not have a lot of time to meet with us. People will see an occasional
post from me and feel free to share it with others! I wanted to touch on last
week because I didn't get much of a chance to write about my feelings about
leaving my last area. I loved serving in Rosamond and Mojave. I met so many
great people and I grew so much. I know that the Lord is watching over each and
every one of us, we are His sheep. He knows us perfectly. I know He saw how
much I grew and wants me to keep growing and so He's sent me here where there
are more things for me to learn and more people for me to serve.
This week we were able to have some really cool experiences.
We ate dinner with the grandmother of one of my investigators I had been
teaching in Mojave haha how crazy is that!? The Lord knows what He's doing. We
were also given tacos from a guy selling them from his house and listened to
him share what he has learned from life. At one point in his life he and his
wife had four houses they were renting out, a restaurant, and two food trucks.
His wife had a heart attack and was in a coma for 8 months and they had to sell
everything to pay for the medical bills. But she's alive and doing a lot better
now. But they are back to square one. The most amazing thing about it was that
he said it was all ok because he still has his family. Family is the most
important thing. He also talked about how there are a lot of people in our
lives who come and go but our family is our family and should always be there
for us. I feel so lucky to be able to say that. I love my family so much and it
brings me a lot of joy to do my best to invite other people to enjoy the
blessings that I have experienced. Thank you so much for the support everyone
has given me. It means a lot!
These are some people from Rosamond/Mojave
1. This is Frank (black tank top) and Garrett. They are two
of my favorite people I've met on my mission. They've really come to be good
friends of mine. I love these guys.
2. This is Larry and Toni. They are some wonderful people.
Larry is one of the most Christlike people I've ever met. He does service
almost every day of his life.
