Week 25
Dear Everyone,
This week was an interesting one. It had a lot of surprises,
some better than others. I think the first big surprise was me getting the flu!
Haha fun stuff there! And then I guess my body said “why not catch a cold too?”
haha so now I have a cold. So those were the not so good surprises, but this
week had a lot of really cool surprises too. One of them being that we were
contacted by some other missionaries about someone they had referred to
missionaries here about a year ago. We had never heard of that person so we had
them resend the person’s information and we went to go see if we could meet them.
When we got to the street the house number they had given us didn’t even exist!
Haha so we were a little confused but we kept walking down the street and we
hear someone call out from their home “are you Mormon?” We turned and started
talking to this woman who was super nice. She had met with missionaries about
35 years ago and still had a copy of the Book of Mormon that a neighbor had
given her back then. We talked to her and her daughter and answered questions
and they invited us back. When we were walking back to our car Elder Peyson and
I both almost couldn’t believe what had just happened. We had been led there to
a house that didn’t exist so that we could be in the right place at the right
time.
Something I wanted to share this week is that the faith we
have should lead us to act. When we exercise the faith that we have, our faith
increases. Everything that Heavenly Father commands us to do is for us, and we
have the choice to do them or not. He has told us the way and even sent Jesus
Christ to show us the way. But He won’t force us to follow Him. The choice to
have faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement enough to follow Him is the first
principle of His Gospel. It leads us to every other aspect and principle of the
Gospel and allows Christ to lift us back up when we fall.
Have a great week everyone! I hope you all enjoy the
Christmas season! Don't forget to light the world with service! Do some nice
things for someone else!
Love,
Elder Anderson
