Week 20
Dear Everyone,
This week there have been a lot of things that have made me
think a lot about my relationship with my Father in Heaven. My companion and I
meet a lot of people who believe the Bible says a lot of different things and
by the end of the day it’s interesting to reflect on all of their different
views.
At the end of one of the days this week we laughed thinking about the scenario of three people we had met with varying beliefs sitting down in a room together to discuss those beliefs. It’s amazing how many people we meet during the time that we’re out each day and it’s awesome to have the opportunity to talk with them and hear their different ideas. It inspired me to really begin to search more deeply what the Bible says about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
One theme I have noticed this week through my studies is that He wants us to know Him and to know how to get back to Him. That’s why He sent His son, calls prophets, and gives us scripture. That’s also why we are all born with the Light of Christ. The Spirit speaks to us and influences us to do good things and to learn good things. It helps us understand who we are, where we came from, and who our Heavenly Father is. I know that He has a plan for us. I know that He wants us all to pray and talk with Him about our lives and the things we’re going through and feeling. He wants to hear about the good and the bad. He knows everything and I have a testimony that He gives really good advice haha.
One of my favorite scriptures is “draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you; seek me diligently and ye shall find me; ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you”. It’s been really cool to search the scriptures and other resources I have to do my best to “draw near” to my Heavenly Father and learn more about Him and His Son. If anyone would like, I’d enjoy it if you sent me scriptures from the Bible that have taught you about God and Jesus Christ and made you feel some understanding about them. I’d love to look them up and see what we all come up with!
