Week 7

Hey everyone! This week was great! It was humid and that's usually something that I like, but I came to understand that swamp coolers don't work so great when its humid. So we had a couple rough nights haha but lucky for me I sleep like a rock even if I'm sweating. All that camping in humidity for scouts paid off ;) anyway we did a TON of service this week! From digging holes for fence posts to moving members out of the ward it was all really good. I really enjoy doing service and I like manual labor so that was way fun to just work. I like having people see that we are here to help the community and everyone in it, members of the church or not. Having people see that we're people too helps and makes us not so scary. Please be nice to the missionaries in your areas, even if they seem strange like me ;) Another fun thing is that I've had the opportunity to experience both Young Women's and Relief Society classes the last couple of weeks. Our investigators/less active members expressed a little anxiety about going to class alone and so we went with them haha I think we were able to pressure the women in Relief Society into signing up on our dinner calendar just because of us being there so maybe we'll do that more often ;) I've attached a few pictures to this email (it's about time, I know) and the first one is of my lavish apartment, next is a picture of me in Mojave (not my area, too populated), and finally a picture of me and my companion in front of the Edwards Air Force Base sign (we aren't actually allowed to go onto the base).

This week something in particular stuck out to me and even though it stuck to me I know that it can apply to everyone. You don't know your limitations and you don't know your potential, God does. God knows you can make it through anything you're experiencing. He wants each one of us to grow and learn and we do that by pushing ourselves and leaning on our Savior Jesus Christ. So if you are struggling, turn to Heavenly Father in prayer and ask "what do you want me to learn from this?" Each day presents its own challenges and trials, or opportunities and lessons. That doesn't change. It's hard. But if trials were just lifted off of our shoulders we wouldn't become stronger. We can choose to change our perspective. The question is are we going to suffer through the day or learn through the day? I know that by changing your perspective you can change your life.

Thank you for all the love and support, it means so much! I hope everyone has a great week and has a learning experience each day.

Love,

Elder Anderson
